Leaders & Deacons

As a Baptist Church all members are involved in how Watnall Road is run, through our Church Members Meetings. These are held 5 times a year. The Church Members appoint Ministers and Deacons to provide leadership to the church.

Leaders
Senior Minster - Paul Gough has just left to take up a post at Crossways Community Baptist Church in Dorking (February 2010).

Assistant Minister - Ian Smith. Previously Minister at another church in town, Ian started as Assistant Minister at Watnall Road in July 2007 following a few years working for the Probation Service. He is married to Mandy and they have four children, Asher, Charis, Susannah and Ruth. When busy family life allows it, Ian likes to run.

Ministry Assistant, Children and Families - Sally Newsome. Having worshipped at Watnall Road for a number of years and taught in a local primary school, Sally was appointed to work for the church in September 2007. Sally is married to Bob and they have three daughters, Katy, Emily and Abigail.

Deacons
A team of Deacons meet monthly with the Leaders. Current Deacons are:
