Our Youth groups have many exciting activities and opportunities for young people to make friends, grow in their faith and serve alongside the adults in the church. In all of them, we want to have fun, while being encouraged, learning about friendship and relationships in an atmosphere where each young person is respected and valued as an individual. Look at what we offer for young people during the week and on Sundays and if you want to know more about any of these contact – Liam O’Kane – email@example.com – 07479 217 798
At present our weekly Youth Service is online via the WRBC Youth YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPrGPFGNEdKQs84R0nux2KQ
Explore is a youth group for young people from 11 to 16 years old, running every Thursday evening through term time. It is a growing group with currently 31 on its register.
We spend our time together hanging out, playing table tennis and pool, catching up and will always play some ridiculous game all together. We have fun, we are growing as a community in numbers and in relationships and we spend some time each week reflecting on a Christian theme that is accessible whether the young person is a Christian or not.
Explore creates an atmosphere where everyone in the group can be themselves whilst making new friends, building relationships and learning a little of how God is working in their lives in very practical and real ways.
Junction is our Sunday morning youth gathering where we spend time together learning more about God and how he is working in our daily lives. We do this through reflective bible study, open discussions, worship and prayer. We encourage each other in our understanding of the Christian faith whilst recognising we are all on our own journey. We are growing together as a group and experience some of our best relationship building when we are just sharing what‘s been going on in our lives since we last met. We enjoy silly games, biscuits and Lego bible videos and we even get a bit crafty sometimes.
180 is a group for young Christians in the local area that runs fortnightly on Sunday evenings. It is made up of young people from three local churches with about half from WRBC. 180 is an opportunity for young people to delve deeper into the Christian faith through a variety of different approaches. We are currently using the Hope 18 youth resource Mission Academy Live, helping us to proactively seek opportunities to share our faith with our friends. We are also using the youth Origins prayer course which is showing us how we can deepen our relationship with God, Jesus and each other through prayer. As well as this we spend a good chunk of time each session building community with each other through games, food and worship.
Biblically Living Together is a group for our older teenagers that meet fortnightly at Liam and Mel’s house. It’s a reflective space for our older young people to share life together, grow in their faith and relationship with God and equip themselves for the adult world they are entering into.
